At Hattie’s Sweet Shop you will always find familiar favorites, including Swedish Fish, gummies, Necco Wafers, Sweet Tarts, PEZ, too many chocolates to count, and a variety of jellybeans. Actually, make that a wall of jellybeans—the shelves are lined with jars and collectively hold about 400 pounds of them. You can also find tubs of Umpqua Dairy ice cream, more than 40 varieties of black licorice, and a wide selection of Hattie’s handmade fudge. But because we know candy should be fun, we also stock lots of seasonal varieties, including caramel apples and gummy brains for Halloween, chocolate turkeys at Thanksgiving, and, for Easter, several shades of Peeps.
Founded in 2002, Hattie’s has long been the local sweetheart of Multnomah Village. We’re an old-fashioned, boutique sweet shop, satisfying cravings both nostalgic and new, for the old and young alike. We rotate our candy for all the seasonal holidays. There is nowhere else in Portland/Metro where you will find a selection of chocolates and treats like ours all in one place.
So, who’s Hattie? The store’s namesake belongs to business owner Tricia Leahy’s late grandmother Hattie. Tricia has fond memories of Grandma Hattie as the “holiday grandma” who baked and made candy – specific candy for specific holidays. Grandma Hattie’s handmade traditions live on in Tricia’s custom fudge creations and in the cozy, homelike atmosphere of Hattie’s Sweet Shop in Multnomah Village.
